Short Biography

Efstathios Antoniou received his BSc degree in Mathematics in 1994 and his PhD in Mathematical Systems Theory in 2000, both from the department of Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During the decade 2000-10 he has been employed as a post-doctoral researcher in several research projects in the area of Computer Aided Control System Design (CACSD). Since 2002, he has also been employed as an associate student advisor at the department of Computer Science of the Hellenic Open University and as visiting assistant professor at the department of Sciences of the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki and the department of Mathematics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In 2008, he was appointed in a permanent positon as Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics at the Alexander Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki. In March 2016, he was promoted to associate professor at the department of Information Technology with field of expertise “Numerical and Symbolic Computational Methods for Mathematical Systems Theory” . His research and teaching interests lie in the area of polynomial description of linear multivariable systems, systems stability, numerical linear algebra, the implementation of numerical and symbolic software for system theory.
